The Winnipeg Gold Eyes of the North League, offers fans top entertainment. Playing out of the Winnipeg Stadium, the team won the championship in their inaugural year (1994). SKIING
The most popular individual outdoor winter sport in Winnipeg by far is cross-country skiing. Enthusiasts make tracks to the municipal golf courses, which do double duty when the snow comes. While the landscape around Winnipeg is not conducive to alpine skiing beginners can enjoy themselves at Springhill, just outside the city. In addition there are many good ski hills within a day's drive of Winnipeg.
